Adjustment should be carefully checked, found problems should be replaced or repaired.

2. The CAM surface is rough

This may be caused by the manufacturing quality of the CAM, but in general, the main reasons include CAM contact wear, poor lubrication, CAM surface scratching and so on. This problem can be solved by repairing worn cams and CAM contacts.

3. The clearance between the guide sleeve of the center frame and the cross bar is too large

  • The fit gap is too large, resulting in the change of the rotation center of the part during turning. The gap must be kept as small as possible because the cutting force inevitably causes the part to jitter, which affects the machining quality. Please make the adjustment smaller.

4. The blade is worn

  • Automatic lathe blade wear is one of the most common causes. When cutting metal, the sharp cutting edge of the turning tool is used to remove excess material from the part. When the cutting edge of the turning tool is worn, the cutting conditions will change, the cutting force will increase significantly, the turning surface will become orange peel, and the surface roughness will increase. In general, sharpening tools will improve it significantly. In normal production, the main blade should be sharpened every 4 to 8 hours.

5. Tool center too high or too low

  • Generally, the diameter of the parts processed by automatic lathes is relatively small. The tool center is very sensitive to the surface roughness of the part. Inaccurate centering will affect the cutting conditions. The change, especially the change of the tool center elevation, has a more obvious effect on the surface roughness. For this reason, the tool center needs to be precisely adjusted when machining small diameters.
